Pre-Employment Functional Assessments (PEFA) - For Participants

Your PEFA will be conducted at the BAC Head Office located at 280 Harborne Street, Glendalough. To view the location on a map please click here.

The Pre-Employment Functional Assessment (PEFA) consists of a series of physical exercises, strength and flexibility assessments and a step-test. All of which you can complete in your own time and to the extent that you feel comfortable. This assessment is to ensure that the applicant is physically capable and fit for the role they are applying for. The PEFA itself takes approximately an hour to complete.

Please note:

Because you will be doing physical exercises as part of the PEFA please make sure that you are dressed in comfortable, loose fitting clothing and sneakers. We also ask that you refrain from smoking and drinking any caffeine drinks (coffee, tea, energy drinks, coke) for 90 minutes before your PEFA.

You will need to bring the following:

  • A Water Bottle
  • Photo Identification
  • Reading Glasses (If needed)
  • Doctors Details (Name and Contact Number)
  • Information on any pre-existing conditions (E.g. High Blood Pressure)

Assuming that all goes well with your PEFA you will then be sent on for the medical part of the assessment (what is specified will vary between clients)  at a Kinetic Health Clinic in Perth. This will be booked for either the same day or following day of the PEFA, which you will be aware of and further details will be given to you at your PEFA appointment.

Once all Pre-Employment Assessments have been completed, it takes up to a week for the results to be sent to your potential Employer and they will then be in contact with you regarding your possible employment.
